Steven Strella VIEW PROFILE

Steven G. Strella, 47 of Tulsa, died on Monday, May 2, 2011. He was the son of George G. and Jeanne F. (Nettleton) Strella. He was born in Kansas City, KS on June 26, 1963. The family moved to Tulsa 1968 and Steven attended MacArthur Elementary, Whitney Junior High and graduated 1981 from Edison High School. Music and ballet were important in Steven’s life. He studied ballet with the Jasinksi’s Tulsa School of Ballet and played the part of Fritz in The Nutcracker. He was the principle violinist in the orchestra at Edison High School and played bass clarinet in the marching band. He developed an interest in the emerging computer field and studied that technology at the Oklahoma School of Business. He also had a love for growing plants, and his first full-time job was with Juniper Hills Farm where at 19 he designed and installed their first computer system. His talents also led into network administration at MPSI and LIMCO Airepair both in Tulsa. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at age eight and grew in grace at Tulsa Christian Fellowship, Kids for Christ and Shepherd's Fold Ranch. He is survived by his parents, George and Jeanne Strella; aunts and uncles, Dr. R. Wayne and Joanne Neal of Tulsa, Virginia Strella, Paul Strella and his daughter, Virginia Ann of CA; cousins, Carole Jeanne and David Runnels of Tulsa and their children, Emily, Jack and Joseph; David and Laura Neal of Adair and their sons, Tom, Carl and Sam and good friend John Horky of Tulsa. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 5th at the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK.
